As someone who is about to embark on an extended stay in Japan, I have a feeling that this phrase will soon apply to me, though am hopeful that my broken Japanese will be sufficient for meaningful communication. I leave for Japan on Sunday, on a flight to Narita airport via Brisbane, with my friend 桜ちゃん. She and I will be attending a school in Tokyo for six weeks, and hopefully over the course of our stay both of our Japanese language skills will improve, if only a little.

The main purpose of this blog is so that I can stay in contact with family and friends without neglecting the purpose of my exchange, which is to immerse myself in the culture and language of Japan. Thus, I hope that this blog can help to form a one-way connection to share my experience, and I will update it as frequently as I desire. I also hope to continue it whenever I travel overseas as a record of my adventures - we shall see how that goes.

The attached photo is of my last adventure, to Maui. My parents endeavor to retire there so I hope to being seeing more of Hawaii in the future. Wish me luck!
